Bokarina started to emerge in the 1980’s known originally as Bokarina beach. The primary landmark in the area is the large parcel of land between the Nicklin Way and the surf beach. Identified as a new project called Oceanside by stockland, this will be the last available beachside development opportunity on the coastal strip.
Kawana Waters high school is the major school within the suburb, and the other community facilities include Quad Park (including the Sunshine Coast Stadium) hosts major sporting and cultural events such as the colour run, boating and fishing expo’s and major sporting events.
