Cotton Tree is a highly desirable pocket of Maroochydore, bounded by Aerodrome road, cornmeal creek, the ocean Maroochy river and the ocean. Popular with residents and long term locals it is a family friendly holiday destination. Sixth avenue has a number of 10 storey high rises which are set back one block from the beach, all with stunning coastal views. King street is the popular and trendy café strip, with convenience store, butcher, fish and chip shops and local businesses. Each sunday the street is closed to vehicles and a local craft market is held. Cotton tree is famous for its caravan park, a popular destination and usually the first point of call for tourists to fall in love with the area and make the decision to stay on the Sunshine Coast more permanently. The river allows safe swimming for children and plenty of water sports activities such as stand up paddle boarding and kayaking.
